Major Update
Design and Animation
-
We have redesigned every icon in the Lordicon collection with a focus on the most downloaded icons, which got better design and extra animation types, making an additional 5300 animations available.
-
The Wired family icons now have smaller bounding areas, making them more versatile.
-
Icons with similar design elements have been grouped together into animation states making the library more organized.
-
We have limited the stroke width to three levels: light, regular, and bold.
Formats
-
We have updated our default Lottie JSON format to support customized icons in web and native environments, eliminating glitching watermarks and color inconsistencies. Upon export, the JSON file can be minified to remove redundant data.
-
From now on, we will deliver the SVG source file, which can be fully customized using graphic design software.
-
We provide a fully rebuilt and improved Adobe After Effects source file with the MOGRT extension, compatible with Adobe Premiere PRO or Rush.
Developers
-
We have built an official library for the React and Flutter environment, making Lordicons available on the Web, iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and Linux.
-
We have updated our custom element for the Web. Make sure to use the updated icons with a new player. The updated icons are not compatible with the previous versions of a custom element player.
-
We have added a new animation trigger called "intro" that plays the icon animation upon page load. This is particularly useful for animations that demonstrate the gradual creation of an icon.
-
We have switched to an Lordicon official Github account.
Lordicon Platform Update
Speed performance improvement
We are pleased to announce that we have dedicated significant time and resources to enhancing the speed and performance of the Lordicon platform. Through a complete overhaul of the service's backend, we have achieved impressive results. In fact, our efforts have resulted in a remarkable score of 98/100 on Google Page Speed Insights. You can verify this by visiting this link.
New feature: Export animation frame to static image
From now you can easily export a specific animation frame as a still image. Pause the player and download icon as PNG or SVG.
An account required to export icons
We have decided to restrict access to Lordicon without requiring users to create an account. During the platform's development, we encountered significant issues with the user experience of our library. After careful consideration, we determined that we could not resolve these issues without saving user preferences on the account level.
By requiring users to create an account, we can now provide a more personalized and streamlined experience for all of our users. This move is part of our commitment to constantly improving the platform and ensuring that our users have the best possible experience.
